This is one of those healthy updates where it is really for my benefit, so I can refer back to how I’m feeling in March 2019.
I feel as if I am experiencing some issues at the moment but I’d like to start off with something very positive.
- Eyesight has improved! I had my eyes tested a couple of weeks ago and the back of my eyes were photographed. The photo above is from last year. There is also a computer generated cross section which is simply brilliant and shows the different layers of the retina. My central serous retinopathy has improved enormously and it can hardly be seen by the optician. I can still see some distortion but it’s not too bad and the colour vision has improved in my left eye. I have new glasses to wear for driving and watching TV and these take quite a lot of getting used to. They’re also pretty trendy!
Other symptoms
- Often feeling cold has me sitting by a radiator, wearing extra layers, turning the shower temperature up, turning the heating up at home and so on.
- Tiredness is something I feel most days. I sleep so well!
- My urine is foamy and often cloudy.
- Blood pressure is still a little too high. Apparently our kidneys have a role in regulating the blood pressure.
- My ankles and feet become a little swollen by the evening.
- Bones might be troublesome but I’m not completely sure.
- Muscle cramps occur regularly, almost every night in my feet and/or my legs.
My biggest regret is not feeling up to running through tiredness, though I will have another go again soon. I miss the runner’s high and those feelings of real elation. I miss the joy of running my favourite hilly route of 7.5 miles, non stop and revelling in the last mile being faster than the first.
Otherwise I am enjoying life, always thankful for things and I am pretty contented really. I am optimistic and I know I will get through this tricky stage in some way or other.
