A few years ago I posted the article below about why I’m teetotal on one of my other blogs. It has had thousands of hits from all around the world. As it is something I feel strongly about, I decided to repost it here. Please feel free to comment regardless of whether you agree with me or not.

#ExposeChristianSchools
I spotted #ExposeChristianSchools was trending on Twitter a couple of days ago and thought I’d take a look. I think it is mostly American and therefore difficult for me to comment too directly as it’ll be out of context for me. However, it is mostly people tweeting who have gone through some kind of christian education who are fighting against it. To be fair, there are some who are supportive. The above tweet is an example of what people are saying – and clearly the advice for girls to dress modestly or else…. is wholly inappropriate.
We have sent our own daughters through a christian school here in the UK, from preschool (aged 2 or 3) to year 11 (aged 16) so I think I’m able to comment on this. It is probably easier to break it down month by month and needless to say I’m already looking forward to whatever unfolds in 2019! Continue reading “My review of 2018”
It’s Christmas Eve!
Having Becky and Hannah back home now is very special. I might have mentioned how next year will be different with Becky gettting married and so this will be the last Christmas with just the four of us. I’m fine with that, it is a joy to see our daughters grow up and take steps into their own lives. Here’s a little more of what has been going on….. Continue reading “It’s Christmas Eve!”
Latest art – Nicholas Oloo
Today I went along to the art group at church, first time in a couple of weeks owing to this and that. It was nice to return and catch up with some of the folk I’m slowly getting to know. Also so heartwarming and unexpected when a couple said they’d been thinking of me while I was away from the group. Continue reading “Latest art – Nicholas Oloo”
