Moving through life's seasons
Well, that was a curious experience. As a step towards my prostate operation, there was the need for some further investigations to take place today, all part of giving me a thorough ‘going over’ to ensure all is well.
Most of the time when I write here, I’m writing to the wider blog reading audience. For this post, I’m writing mostly to myself, as a kind of journal entry. Yesterday and today I had some health news and I wanted to jot down a few thoughts while it is fresh in my mind.
I seem to be as busy as ever so this is the quickest of blogging updates; normal service should resume soon! Quite a few things have been demanding my time over the last couple of weeks. All pretty positive but have all combined to distract me away from the keyboard. Broadly, they are:

There is just 5 hours to go until tomorrow, 26 July, which is my last day at work and the start of early retirement. Or to put it more succinctly I’ll be on FIRE – Financially Independent Retired Early.
Whenever I can, I like to mark the longest day in some way. This year I got up at 3:00am and went for a mid summer run – it was amazing!
As you know I have been waiting for an operation on my prostate. There seems to be quite a few hospital hospital shenanigans emerging and I’m not too sure what to make of them. I am suspecting this is another example of the background administration buckling under the strain of public sector pressure.
