As we get used to our new grey Toyota Avensis, yesterday we said farewell to Rachel’s old red Avensis. As part of the process we advertised it on eBay and Autotrader and I now feel like I could be a car dealer! We are in the process of changing cars and this, so far, has involved me buying a 12 year old car. Normally we have bought cars which are 3 years old, in other words when most of their depreciation has already taken place and yet there is still plenty of life left in the car. Being debt free is a nice feeling. I found myself remembering when we paid off our mortgage and the huge weight which had been lifted from us.
